Dr. Peggy Pence

PhD, RAC, FRAPS

Having traveled to Africa multiple times and with a love for Africa and its peoples, Dr. Pence has served on the Board of CompassioNow (formerly CareNow Foundation) since 2007. She has previously served on the Board of Directors or Advisory Board for multiple other organizations and currently also serves on the Board of Finding Freedom International (FFI), whose mission is to restore the lives of women and children victimized from sexual exploitation and modern slavery. Dr. Pence is a certified FFI trainer and also serves in other anti-human trafficking ministries. Dr. Pence is Founder, CEO and President of Symbion Research International, Inc., which provides strategic regulatory and product development consulting for pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Dr. Pence is a RAPS (Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society) Fellow (FRAPS), a peer-reviewed credential for which she was selected based on her experience, contributions, and leadership in the regulatory profession. She also holds the U.S. Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) designation. In her more than 45 years of experience, Dr. Pence has been involved in the development of treatments and diagnostics for a number of infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Dr. Pence was an Adjunct Professor for the MS Biotechnology Program, California State University, Channel Islands, from 2011 to 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Louisiana Tech and her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in toxicology from Indiana University.
